School Story:
I worked at Snyder's drugstore- Miracle Mile age 16 on so was unable to participate in extra curricular activities. I enjoyed my classes while I was there but missed a lot due to my mother's hospitalization most of my Senior year.
I was taking care of a baby sibling. When I requested my transcripts for Nursing was totally surprised to see mostly A's & B's. The teachers sure were good to me. I mostly enjoyed Mr. Heers in art class which led to my art career and Mr. "G" in Glee Club. I remember coming back for his retirement party and all the classes through the years sat in the audience and he stood on stage and just directed as we sang in unison all our favorites. So awesome! Always enjoyed the guys singing base in the back row. Reminded me of my Dad who sung in a Male Chorus when I was growing up in Montevideo.
Course I drew a portrait of Mr. Olson while he taught & he kept it.
Guess I will never forget old Park High, the short time I was there. I moved in during 10th grade coming from Chaska. We wore blazers and cashmere sweaters and skirts to match. The sock hops were fun and I got swung over a few shoulders as I was only 80# back then.
My kids tell me we did live during the best of times...and it was.
