Marvin Shedlov VIEW PROFILE

Marvin Shedlov

Marvin W. Shedlov lived his entire life in St. Louis Park - He was age 84, and passed away September 19, 2025. Marv was preceded in death by grandson, Jacob Mesick and daughter, Amy Samuelson James. He is survived by wife of 65 years, Diane; daughter, Lisa Mesick (Peter); son, Daniel Friedman-Shedlov (Lara); and grandchildren, Joseph Samuelson, Emily Samuelson, Joshua Mesick, Caleb Mesick. Marv retired after 43 years working at  Rosemount Aerospace. Participating in his children's and grandchildren's activities was his greatest joy. Private family services are planned. Memorials preferred to the American Diabetes Association or Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF).

Marv was always an attendee at our class reunions, and was always eager for our recent birthday celebrations and later year gatherings in St. Louis Park.  We all wondered why he was not with us at our recent 85th birthday celebration just two weeks ago.

He received his bachelor's degree from the Univ. of MN in Aeronautical Engineering, and took a Master's Degree from USC. Although he lived in California for a short time, family ties brought him back to MN permanently.  His three children all graduated from St. Louis Park High School, went to college and are successful in their own right.

Marv and Diane's grandchildren are all active in athletics, or dramatic arts, which kept them active watching their games and presentations, which seemed to come with a frequency of two per week.  Otherwise, Marv enjoyed playing the slots at Mystic Lake Casino.  Marv Shedlov was as "St. Louis Park" as anyone could ever be.  His loyalty to our class was noteworthy, and his friendship unwavering.

Marv was a good friend at Lenox Elementary. He was always a leader in our class. We were a strong, achieving group of kids who took school seriously. I was happy to be included in several celebrations at the synagogue. We were quite a merry group
..Marv,Barry,Berneen,Phyllis &
Arlene. These friendships were valuable to me...always.It is no surprise that Marv had a full and accomplished life in his profession and in his family life. Good going!!!Mary

Marv was a great friend both in High School and college!  We both choose to major in Aeronautical Enginnering at the U of M.  One of my fondest memories with Marv was working with him on a fifth-year senior project at the U.  All aeronautical engineering students took a senior year design project class.  I teamed with Marv and two other students to attempt a detailed preliminary design of a jet powered executive plane that carried 10-12 passangers.  After doing the design, we built a scale model of it for wind tunnel testing.  We performed the wind tunnel tests at Rosemont Aero Labs.  I'm sure that was Marv's first exposure to the laboratory he later spent most of his career at!  We made a terrific team on that project and passed that course with A grades!  I have nothing but the greatest respect for Marv as a great friend and great engineer!  Rest in peace my fine friend!  You will be greatly missed by all, who knew you!
