Ann V. Cheleen, age 82 of Golden Valley, MN, passed away April 10, 2023. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Sig and Pauline. She is survived by a brother, John (Mary); niece, Kia. Ann will be remembered as a dedicated 3rd grade teacher in Robbinsdale for many years. Memorials are preferred to Mt. Olivet Careview Home. No memorial service has been planned at this time.

Our classmate Joan Bissell Hyde, was a friend of Ann Cheleen in high school and recalls that she indeed did teach 3rd grade in Robbinsdale for several years.  Ann's brother John had called another one of our classmates, Gloria Johnson, several days ago, to tell her Ann had passed away.  Both Joan and Gloria had been particularly close to Ann Cheleen, and maintained contact with her over the many years since our graduation.

You may recall that Ann had been very active in high school.  She was a member of G.A.A., the Glee Club as a junior and senior, member of the Senior Chorus as a sophomore, Canteen as a senior, along with the Hall and Building Committee, wrote for the Echowan in our senior year, the Echo in our sophomore and junior years,, was involved in Blue Tri all three years, and president of Blue Tri in our senior year.  Ann was a member of the French Club during her sophomore and junior years.  She participated in our Junior Class Play and was a member of the Welcome Committee in our sophomore year.

When we hear of plans for a memorial service for Ann, we will pass that information along to you.
