Thomas Milton Jones, Jr. died on May 17, 2007.  He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher; but is survived by daughter, Julie Cheney; grandchildren Abigail and Connor; and his mother, Jean Jones.  Tom is also survived by brothers Steve and Jack Jones, and a sister, Sally McCabe and also by many relatives and friends.

Tom Jones was not involved with any group, team or organization in high school.  When the school bell sounded at the end of the day, Tom just left.  Yet while in the classroom and in the school hallways, Tom was an ardent friend to many.  As you ponder your relationship with Tom Jones in high school, you might ask, as did the Echowan staff, what it was about Tom that we could measure him by.  They decided, whether appropriate or not, that Tom had a different view of the world and gave him this moniker, "Why was I born with such contemporaries?"  Perhaps Tom Jones was meant for a different time in the history of the universe.
